This spring, 20 affordable housing owner/operators from Illinois and Michigan participated in our Midwest Climate Resilience Academy, a five-session training series providing information, resources, and technical assistance (TA) to affordable housing providers on protecting their portfolio against the region’s unique climate hazards.
The Mid-Atlantic Climate Resilience Academy is designed specifically to help multifamily affordable housing owners, operators, and developers across Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia make their properties more resilient and reduce displacement of residents, damage to property, business interruptions, and other harmful impacts.
Every year, extreme heat kills more people in the U.S. than other natural disasters combined. This year has brought little relief so far, with temperatures soaring in all corners of the country.
