One of the greatest challenges facing New York City is the shortage of affordable homes. The high cost and scarcity of land is a barrier to the production of affordable housing.
Faith-based organizations (FBOs) often have underutilized land that can be repurposed for affordable homes and community programs, while also aligning with their charitable mission.
Enterprise Faith-Based Development InitiativeSM (Enterprise FBDISM) connects FBOs to knowledge and support to craft a vision for redeveloping their property into affordable homes and community facilities.
We support FBOs through:
- Technical Assistance: Navigating development visioning and feasibility
- Training: Building FBOs’ understanding of affordable housing programs, and the development process
- Tools: Resources and guides, including organizational assessment and case studies
- Access to Experts: offering the expertise of mission-driven development professionals to assess their property’s development potential and to select a qualified and experienced, mission-driven development partner to make their vision a reality
We are seeking development consultants to support FBDI. One to two consultants will be selected to assist FBOs with affordable housing development through one-on-one technical assistance, trainings, tools, and access to community development expertise. The development consultant(s) will work alongside Enterprise to support FBOs from April 2022 to March 2023.
The consultants’ work will be directly contracted by Enterprise. Applications to this Request for Applications (RFA) are due by March 14, 2022.
