The Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program (AHSC) is one of California’s largest funding sources for affordable housing. AHSC pairs affordable housing with high-quality transportation investments to foster healthy, well-connected communities. At its core, AHSC is a successful statewide program for reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, helping advance our State goals for a healthier, more sustainable California.

AHSC Round 6 Final Guidelines and NOFA Released 

The California Department of Housing and Community Development in partnership with the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC) recently announced the release of the Round 6 AHSC program’s Final Adopted Guidelines and the Notice of Funding Availability. Applications will be due on June 8, 2021, at 5 p.m. About $405 million is available for competitive award. Round 6 award recommendations will be adopted by the SGC on or around October 28, 2021.

The AHSC program is still accepting applications for free state-sponsored technical assistance (TA), but time is running out to get started with your application! First-time applicants, applicants based in disadvantaged, low-income, and Tribal communities, and other prospective applicants needing extra support are especially encouraged to request TA through the Survey to Request AHSC Technical Assistance.
