COLUMBIA, Md. (June 02, 2020)  – Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise) announced today that Drew Warshaw will serve as the first Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Enterprise and its family of companies. Having managed large enterprises in both government and business, Warshaw brings to Enterprise top credentials in strategy, operations and execution, and a deep background in policy and finance. As COO, Warshaw will oversee the implementation of Enterprise’s forthcoming five-year strategic plan and leverage the full range of Enterprise’s capabilities in support of the organization’s mission.

“Drew’s track record of developing strategy and relentlessly executing it in both public and private sectors makes him a perfect fit for this new role,” said Priscilla Almodovar, chief executive officer of Enterprise. “He is fiercely committed to our mission and has all the tools to make a difference. We’re thrilled to have him.”

Warshaw comes to Enterprise from Clearway Energy Group, among the three largest renewable energy companies in the United States. At Clearway, he built and managed the company’s Community Solar business, which has deployed more than $1 billion in capital and has become the industry leader in developing, financing and operating such renewable energy projects. Before Clearway, he helped launch the Renewables division of NRG Energy, Inc., a Fortune 250 company, a division which was later acquired and reorganized as Clearway.

Prior to Clearway, Warshaw served in several public sector roles, first at a policy think tank, then in a gubernatorial administration and, most recently, as chief of staff at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, where he helped manage the second-largest transportation agency in the country, with 7,000 employees, a police department, an annual budget of $7 billion and a long-term capital plan of $30 billion. While at The Port Authority, Warshaw was pivotal in the turnaround of the World Trade Center rebuilding, creating a process and roadmap to get the project back on track. For his central role, Warshaw was praised by New York magazine as a “wunderkind” and Crain’s New York Business named him one of its youngest “40 Under 40” honorees.

“At a moment when the most foundational element of our life, our home, has never been more essential to our well-being and yet has never felt so hard to attain or hard to hold onto, we have a chance to move the needle for people. That is what drives me,” said Warshaw. “I am so grateful to join Enterprise with its end-to-end capabilities, deep talent and rich history, and feel especially fortunate to start on the ground floor of a new strategic plan. I look forward to digging in with my colleagues and getting down to execution.”

Warshaw holds a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. A lifelong New Yorker, Warshaw serves on the Board of Directors of Union Settlement, one of New York City’s oldest nonprofit service providers. He lives in New York City with his wife and two sons.
