Green Resources and Local Law 97 for Affordable Housing
Enterprise, in collaboration with the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA), Kinetic Communities Consulting Corporation (KC3) and New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), are hosting an information session on green energy resources and Local Law 97.
In 2019, New York City enacted Local Law 97 (LL97) to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Local Law 97 establishes carbon emission limits for NYC’s largest buildings. Buildings with affordable or rent-regulated units are subject to the prescriptive pathway for LL97 compliance. With the first LL97 compliance period beginning in 2024, the goal of this training is to educate affordable housing providers, large and small, about LL97 compliance as well as energy efficient measures, upgrades, and resources that can be leveraged to save costs over time, as well as to provide an overview of a select number of resources to meet those requirements.
