Hazel Remesch

State and Local Policy Director, Ohio

Hazel Remesch is the State and Local Policy Director for Enterprise Community Partners’ Ohio Market. Hazel focuses on renters rights and protections, advocates on policy issues related to affordable and fair housing, and provides local support on federal housing issues, statewide tax issues and equitable policies. Prior to joining Enterprise, she worked for 15 years at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, where she most recently served as managing attorney of the Housing Practice Group.  

Hazel has been recognized by a number of organizations for her contributions in affordable housing and tenants rights. In 2017, she received the Innovation Mission Fellowship through the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland, and in 2019, she was named a Cleveland City Champion by The Plain Dealer and The Guardian. In 2020, she received the Professionalism award from the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. She served for three years on the board of directors for the Cleveland Tenants Organization and is currently a National Institute Trial Advocacy Faculty Member. 

She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University, in Miami, Florida, in 2006. She is admitted to practice in the following courts: Supreme Court of Ohio, Supreme Court of Florida (inactive), United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
