Claire Louis

Director, Thome Aging Well Program

For over 16 years, Claire has worked to improve housing equity and outcomes for affordable housing by developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with residents; nonprofit and commercial developers; community-based organizations; and local, state and federal agencies. During this time, Claire was especially focused on addressing the unique needs of older adults and adults with disabilities. Prior to her tenure in housing, Claire served her community as a public affairs specialist, teacher, school counselor, and child welfare professional. Most recently, she was the director of community housing at Northern Virginia Family Service, where she administered the overall strategy and general management of 13 local and regional housing programs. Claire holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s degree in counseling from Howard University, as well as Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study in Child Welfare and Gerontology from the University of Southern California.
