“As an Enterprise Rose Fellow, I draw on my experience in community based planning and commercial development to aid revitalization of the East Jefferson Communities.”
Hosted by Jefferson East, Inc. (JEI), Joshua enables his host organizations to complete commercial revitalization and housing projects using best practices in urban design, green building and creative community engagement. Through his fellowship Joshua serves the entire East Jefferson commercial corridor as well as the six neighborhoods of the Villages.
Prior to his fellowship, Joshua worked as Design Consultant for Detroit Collaborative Design Center. His experience informs his work on creative commercial properties, temporary storefronts and other means of building strong neighborhoods. Through projects such as the JEI/Villages Co-Lab and the Jefferson Avenue Greenway, Joshua is working to establish design and development practices that can be replicated across the corridor, and ultimately, throughout the city of Detroit.
