Ai-Lien Vuong
Denver Housing Authority

"As an Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellow, I hope to help communities better understand what 'good design' can be and why everyone should have access to it – both in the public and private realm. The value of well-designed spaces and places is often overlooked in low-income neighborhoods but could do a great deal towards improving quality of life and economic opportunity for residents."

Ai-Lien Vuong joins the Denver Housing Authority (DHA) as the agency begins implementation after years of planning for the redevelopment of the Sun Valley neighborhood. DHA is the master developer, which seeks to integrate district sustainability, transportation infrastructure and community design processes into one of the largest public housing redevelopments in the country. In addition to her involvement on several key DHA projects, Ai-Lien serves on the West Denver Renaissance Collaborative—a collective impact initiative where she focuses on housing and anti-displacement strategies for West Denver. Ai-Lien actively helps DHA and its many partner organizations plan for future growth and equitable development.

Ai-Lien brings both planning and architecture experience to DHA, holding a master’s degree in each from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds numerous awards and recognition, including the Woman of Excellence award, given to graduate students "who have distinguished themselves through professional leadership, mentoring, academic excellence and sustained service.
