Trauma-Informed Design: Designing for Healing, Dignity and Joy
"Trauma-Informed Design: Designing for Healing, Dignity and Joy,” features breakthrough collaborative research on trauma informed design. The research team, formed of University of Denver’s Center for Housing and Homelessness Research, Shopworks Architecture and Group14 Engineering, researched residents' experiences across three supportive housing projects, and with their findings created the 3 C’s of Designing for Health and Healing: Choice, Community and Comfort. The team walks through the impacts of trauma, the importance of biophilia, takes a deep dive into their research findings and supporting evidence for the 3 C's and provides case studies of multiple built examples.
