Beyond Year 15: Preserving Housing Credit Projects and Portfolio
This paper is intended to serve as a guide for nonprofit organizations to develop policies to deal with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) communities that reach Year 15. Organizational procedures for preparing for Year 15 events as well as strategies for repositioning communities for the long term are outlined in this paper.
Although the paper addresses exit strategies and provides examples for all types of projects, the focus is on issues around the most challenging projects and approaches to address those challenges. This paper was made possible by the generous support of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
