The Purple Line Corridor Community Development Agreement Launch Event
Join regional leaders and representatives of public, private and community stakeholders in a catalytic moment as they commit to create pathways to opportunity for all who work, live and invest in corridor
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Nov. 27, 2017 – The Purple Line represents a catalytic moment to create pathways to opportunity for all who work, live and invest in the corridor. Hosted by the University of Maryland's National Center for Smart Growth, the Purple Line Corridor Coalition (PLCC) event will bring together the region's leaders and public, private and community stakeholders to sign and launch Pathways to Opportunity: A Community Development Agreement for the Purple Line Corridor.
The agreement was created through an open, inclusive stakeholder process, led by PLCC over several years, which engaged more than 300 residents, business owners, property owners, nonprofit leaders and public officials. The agreement articulates a collective vision for equitable economic and community development along the corridor and advances strategies to achieve that vision through the pursuit of four shared goals: 1) Support and grow local businesses; 2) Build a thriving labor market; 3) Ensure housing choices for all; 4) Support vibrant, sustainable communities.
