Westminster Overlook Apartments involved the preservation and renovation of 98 one-bedroom rental units for low- and moderate-income seniors and adults with disabilities.
Westminster Overlook had not been renovated since it was constructed in 1979. Renovations include sustainable features that will improve resident comfort and reduce utility bills, such as: energy-efficient, double-pane, low-E windows; building envelope air sealing; water-conserving plumbing fixtures; Energy Star appliances; energy-saving light fixtures and “Green Label” carpeting. Additional improvements include a new roof, new common area HVAC, elevator upgrades, and updates to on-site amenity space including the community room, kitchenette, laundry room, and library/game room. Accessibility updates are planned for apartments serving the physically disabled and for the common areas.
Well located in historic downtown Westminster, Westminster Overlook is close to many amenities, including restaurants, local retailers and other services. Westminster Overlook is within two blocks of the library, parks, and other municipal services. The Town Mall of Westminster and Cranberry Square Shopping Center, which include grocery stores, theaters, banking, restaurants and other shopping, are less than a mile away and are accessible by the Carroll Area Transit Service (CATS) whose shuttle bus has a stop on the property.
