The City of Tacoma developed its Affordable Housing Action Strategy as an urgent response to growing housing needs among residents. Due to its innovative approaches of using data and conducting wide-reaching community engagement, it recently received Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s 2018 Smart Housing Award.

Enterprise has partnered with New Ecology, Inc., the National Housing Trust (NHT) and Clean Energy Group (CEG) to design and pilot the nation’s first multi-family housing Resilience and Solar Assessment Tool for affordable housing.
The $81 billion disaster assistance supplemental introduced in the House last night goes a long way towards meeting the needs of disaster-impacted areas. The House would provide $26.1 billion for the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program, including $13.6 billion in grants for recovery efforts and $12.5 billion for mitigation projects to protect against future natural disasters.
