CPDC Chosen as TD Charitable Foundation Grant Winner
TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation, recently awarded CPDC $125,000 through the “Housing for Everyone” grant competition. Hundreds of organizations from Maine to Florida applied, with just 25 winners selected for this prestigious award.
The theme of this year’s competition was “Expansion of Access to Affordable Housing,” and the $125,000 award will fund high-quality resident services at the Randle Hill community in Southeast.
CPDC hosted a celebratory check presentation on December 7. In attendance were TD Bank’s Mid-South Region president Terrence “Terry” Kenny, TD Bank Mid-Atlantic Region team members, Randle Hill resident Cynthia Ashton-Ahmed and Charles Werhane, CPDC board chair and president and CEO of Enterprise Community Investment.
“This grant will give us the chance to expose the residents of Randle Hill to cultural events and opportunities that they might not otherwise receive. We hope to increase the on-site activities and resources and offsite events that will enrich my fellow residents’ lives and empower them to create positive change in our very own community,” said Cynthia Ashton-Ahmed.“
On behalf of CPDC and Enterprise, I want to thank TD Bank for this generous grant under its “Housing for Everyone” grant competition. It will help implement high-quality resident services through CPDC’s Community Impact Strategies. TD’s partnership has been second to none, and we look forward to continuing our work together well into the future,” said Charles Werhane.
Since 2006, the TD Charitable Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants through this competition.
