Go Boston 2030 is Boston’s long-term mobility planning initiative. As part of her fellowship, Irene manages the Public Realm Planning Study for Go Boston 2030. The study explores the role of placemaking strategies in improving the user experience and spatial quality of transportation in Boston.

irene-figueroa-ortiz.jpgAbout the author: Irene joins A Better City (ABC), a nonprofit organization committed to improve the quality of life and economic competitiveness of the greater Boston area through transportation, land development and environmental initiatives. Along with ABC and the Boston Transportation Department, Irene will work on conceptual design case studies and implementation strategies to introduce creative public realm planning into transportation projects in the city. She will also examine regional trends and identify locations for future initiatives.
