Vote Now for Four Enterprise-Supported Developments up for Affordable Housing Awards
Affordable Housing Finance (AHF) magazine has opened voting for this year’s Readers’ Choice Awards. There are nine categories and 34 finalists. Four finalists – ranging across categories and the country – benefited from Enterprise’s support and partnership.
Four Enterprise-Supported Finalists
Below are short descriptions of these great developments, including the category in which they are entered.
- Green Development: An Enterprise grant enabled the Orchards at Orenco in Hillsboro, Oregon – the country’s largest multifamily building to adopt the highly energy-efficient “passive house” standards – to hold a design charrette.
- Public Housing Redevelopment: Enterprise provided technical assistance and facilitation support to the city of San Francisco, the Housing Authority and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth transition of 1,400 public housing apartments to community-based nonprofit housing developers during phase one of the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program.
- Rural: An Enterprise equity investment helped transform the historic Bowman Hotel in Nogales, Arizona, into the Bowman Senior Residences, which now provide 48 affordable units with immediate access to shopping and transportation for individuals over 62.
- Urban: Enterprise was a major funder of the East Harlem (NY) Center for Living & Learning, which includes an 89-unit apartment building; a charter school; office space for a nonprofit that provides youths with opportunities to play, learn and grow; and a renovated park adjacent to the site.
