Suzanne K. Welch works on both acquisitions and redevelopment projects undertaken by CPDC.
Suzanne’s responsibilities include financial feasibility, securing project financing, and overseeing acquisition, rehabilitation and preservation of existing occupied affordable housing. Suzanne has specialized expertise with land use redevelopment, landlord tenant law, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, tax-exempt bond financing, DC Housing Production Trust Fund, and the permanent supportive housing policies nationally and locally.
Suzanne has worked in the affordable housing finance industry for over a decade both at CPDC and at Transitional Housing Corporation (THC). At THC, she staffed the affordable housing efforts of THC Affordable Housing, Inc., and was a co-developer of Fort View and Webster Gardens, winners of the Journal of Tax Credit Development of Distinction Award in 2011 for Financial Innovation. Prior to that, Suzanne held the position of senior associate general counsel for The Rouse Company where she worked on the commercial real estate development of retail and mixed-use projects as well as urban centers and regional shopping centers across the country. She has also worked for the City of Baltimore’s Department of Housing and Community Development.
Suzanne holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Baltimore and a Master’s degree in Community Development from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland.
