Steve Gimilaro is vice president of syndication for Enterprise Community Investment, Inc. He provides guidance to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) underwriting staff, particularly on Enterprise’s most complicated transactions. These include developments that feature mixed-finance public housing, comprehensive neighborhood revitalization, vulnerable populations, mixed uses, and other complex or unusual legal or tax structures. He oversees the Syndication team’s due diligence collection, review and retention processes, and he plays an active role in refining LIHTC underwriting practices. Steve also advises Enterprise’s Public Policy team in response to proposed changes in government housing policy.
Steve served as a development officer for Enterprise from 1993 to 1997 and returned to Enterprise as a fund manager in 2000. Between 1997 and 2000, he worked for The Community Builders, a national nonprofit development corporation, where he developed financing plans for projects ranging from an assisted living facility that used LIHTC to mixed-use developments located in distressed neighborhoods.
Steve has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and a master’s degree in regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
