Ray Demers is the director of Design Leadership with Enterprise Community Partners. He serves as the strategic lead of the Rose Fellowship, Affordable Housing Design Leadership Institute (AHDLI), and other emerging priorities.
Previously, in his role as a Senior Program Director, Ray co-led the technical development of the 2011 and 2015 Green Communities Criteria - a national green building standard developed for affordable housing. He delivered technical trainings and worked with policymakers advocating for equitable development practices.
He continues to serve as a research associate with the Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative – a cooperative that supports culturally and environmentally sustainable affordable housing in Indian Country. Through technical assistance, research, and design services, the Collaborative helps tribal communities reduce their impact on the natural world, gain self-sufficiency and provide solutions for culturally appropriate, healthy and affordable homes.
Prior to joining Enterprise, Ray worked in architecture firms and general contractors in the northeast. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University.
