Ray Demers is a program director with Enterprise Green Communities. He co-led the technical team updating the 2015 Green Communities Criteria - a national green building standard developed exclusively for affordable housing. Ray delivers technical trainings, works with policymakers to advocate for equitable development practices and supports Enterprise integrating sustainable practices and technologies across business lines.
He also serves as a research associate with the Sustainable Native Communities Collaborative - a group of designers focused on supporting culturally and environmentally sustainable affordable housing in Indian Country. Through technical assistance, research, and design services, the collaborative helps tribal communities reduce their impact on the natural world, gain self-sufficiency and provide solutions for culturally appropriate, healthy and affordable homes.
Prior to joining Enterprise, Ray worked at Erdy McHenry Architecture in Philadelphia and as a project manager at Harvey Construction Corporation in Manchester, New Hampshire. He has a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Lehigh University.
