Marissa M. Pio Roda serves as director of Grants and Contracts Management. She brings 13 years of experience working in data, finance, award management and compliance with all types of funding sources. Joining Enterprise in September of 2016, Marissa supervises the work of the Grants and Contracts Management team. Through direct involvement in managing the Section 4 RFP process and oversight over the management of contracts, Marissa’s leadership is crucial to bringing innovation and effectiveness to the work of the department.
Her experience over the previous nine years in sponsored research administration at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine spanned several areas from financial management to compliance to departmental administration, all contributing to expert-level knowledge on how research administration works in a major research university. Marissa is a RACC-certified research administrator.
Marissa formerly worked in workforce development both in San Francisco and Baltimore. In her time with the Private Industry Council of San Francisco, Inc., Marissa worked with local training providers through the Workforce Investment Act and managed the data compliance and reporting systems. At the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, her work in grant administration involved performance and fiscal data tracking and analysis, research and application development for funding opportunities, and programmatic compliance for projects such as the ex-offender re-entry program.
Marissa received her Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from the George Washington University and a Master of Urban Planning at UCLA with a concentration in Regional and International Development.
