As vice president of Marketing at Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., Jon Searles leads efforts to design and execute marketing and communications strategies for complex businesses, advocacy efforts and programs that drive growth and advance the mission of the organization. He focuses on building and sustaining diverse, highly skilled talent and oversees teams responsible for creative and content development, email marketing, web, SEO/SEM, marketing strategy and event-based engagements across all market segments.
Jon also leverages his earned media (PR) expertise to focus on Enterprise’s thought leaders and unique content to garner coverage in top tier, trade and local media. Under his leadership, both the quality and quantity of coverage have expanded, increasing media hits nine-fold in nine years.
Jon has held positions of increasing responsibility since joining Enterprise in 2010. He has partnered closely with senior leaders and partners across a range of industries to shore up support for vital federal programs, such as those that support impact investing and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. Together with the chief marketing officer, Jon has branded and launched a wide range of products, programs and newly combined businesses as a result of mergers and acquisitions. The results of his content marketing efforts have contributed to Enterprise’s rapid expansion on social media, as well as stories appearing on the front pages of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and in broadcast news. His team’s efforts and close partnerships with the business have enhanced the organization’s value proposition, industry position and thought leadership among key audiences.
Prior to joining Enterprise, Jon served in multiple positions at Fannie Mae in Pasadena, California and Washington, DC. He led the team responsible for creating and executing all marketing and communications strategies for its multifamily and community development businesses, and served as a liaison between the businesses and headquarters on crisis-related issues. Jon also worked in Sacramento for two California governors, receiving an appointment to promote the state’s community service and volunteer programs.
Jon earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh School of Journalism. In addition to his work at Enterprise, Jon serves as a digital ambassador for The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, promoting U.S.-Dutch business ventures. He also serves on the New York chapter of the Association for National Advertisers, whose mission is to drive growth for marketers, brands and businesses. He’s a public speaker, having spoken at grand opening events and marketing-industry conferences.
