In partnership with the MetLife Foundation, Enterprise offers the MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The awards program recognizes 501(c)(3) community-based or regional nonprofit organizations and Tribes or Tribally Designated Housing Entities that show exemplary leadership, innovation, effectiveness and quality operations and services delivery in affordable housing,.
Awards are presented in a single new category, Senior Independent Living, and the prize money may be used to cover any of the needs of the winning organizations. Winners receive:
- A grant of $50,000; four equal place winners will be chosen
- A commemorative plaque
- A press release, issued locally and nationally, announcing your accomplishments
- Opportunity to portray the winning project via a web-based seminar
- A profile of the winning project on the Enterprise Resource Database™ on Enterprise’s website
- An announcement on the Enterprise website with a link to the organization’s profile and website
- Showcase models of excellence in the design, operations and property management of affordable senior housing
- Increase the understanding of how to achieve success in providing innovative and high quality independent living for seniors
- Provide an unrestricted financial award for agencies that exhibit excellence in senior housing
- Disseminate model senior independent living programs.
Established in 1996 by MetLife, MetLife Foundation supports health, education, civic and cultural programs throughout the United States. An emphasis of the Foundation’s current giving is promoting development and quality management of affordable housing, including housing with supportive social services.
