Enterprise recently made its largest Low-Income Housing Tax Credit equity investment ever – $45 million – and its first in the Boston area in more than a decade.

The funds were invested in the second and final phase of the Boston Housing Authority’s Franklin Hill Revitalization development. It will create 152 affordable homes for families in Dorchester, Mass. Enterprise partnered with Trinity Financial, an award-winning affordable housing development company with 20 years’ experience. Download the press release.

Delivering on the Billion Dollar Promise: More than $800 Million Committed
Enterprise’s New York office has invested $808 million in equity, loans and grants to develop or preserve more than 11,000 affordable homes since January 2004. We are edging ever closer toward our Billion Dollar Promise of creating 15,000 affordable homes and investing $1 billion in New York City communities by 2009.

Montaunk Phase 1, a development of the Neighborhood Entrepreneurs Program helped us surpass the $800 million mark. The development will create 57 affordable homes for low-income individuals and families in Brooklyn. Learn more about the Billion Dollar Promise.

During the event, Bruce Katz of the Brookings Institution spoke of today’s global economic challenges and the interconnection between education and housing policy. Enterprise also released The Community Developers’ Guide to Improving Schools in Revitalizing Neighborhoods, a new publication addressing how community developers can work most effectively with neighborhood schools.
