The 2008 JPMorgan Chase Community Development Competition was held in New Orleans. This real world learning experience gives a team of students an opportunity to partner with a New Orleans nonprofit organization to develop a real estate project that is feasible, sustainable, and helps to build and strengthen the local community.
We would like to congratulate the winners of the 2008 Chase Competition:
- Teams are composed of four to six students and are encouraged to focus on one of Office of Recovery, Development and Administration's 17 targeted recovery zones.
- Teams need to complete and submit an intent to participate form (Word, 35K) and a W-9 form.
- Each team submits graduate-level work.
- Many of the participating schools give students course credits for their work.
- JPMorgan Chase provides each team with a $1,500 stipend to help defray costs associated with the competition.
- Teams need to submit an intent to participate form prior to submitting
- A panel of judges selects the winning team.
- The selection process involves a review of the abstract, written proposal, and an oral presentation if selected as a finalist.
- JPMorgan Chase will award pre-development grants to the nonprofit partners in the amounts of:
- $25,000 for first place
- $15,000 for second place
- $10,000 for third place
