Our California initiative is part of Enterprise’s national Green Communities Initiative, a $555 million effort with 49 partners that is transforming the way America builds affordable housing.

Objectives
We will transform the market so that green building practices become commonplace among Los Angeles affordable developers.

The collaborative will:

• Support development of exemplary affordable green housing developments in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
• Educate developers and housing professionals in the Los Angeles metropolitan area about the benefits and practices associated with the integrated design approach to affordable green building.
• Assist city and state officials in understanding and using the Green Communities Criteria requirements for publicly supported affordable housing projects.
• Document the real up-front and operational costs of green affordable developments to dispel the myth that green building is cost prohibitive in the affordable housing sector.
