In 2004, a landmark federal law encouraging private investment in low-income communities faced serious opposition. Enterprise alerted community development professionals nationwide, sparking an enormous email campaign that helped deter efforts to weaken the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
When a series of cuts to the Housing Choice Vouchers program was proposed, threatening extremely low-income families with homelessness, Enterprise joined with fellow advocates to halt the proposal. We worked to show how decent, affordable rental homes help adults find jobs and children succeed in school.
