John Griffith is the national director for state and local policy at Enterprise Community Partners, where he coordinates all policy, advocacy and thought leadership efforts across Enterprise's 10 core markets. He also manages the Accelerating Impact Investing Initiative (AI3), a cross-sector coalition working to expand the market for impact investments in the U.S. John is the author of dozens of public white papers and reports, including An Investment in Opportunity, Enterprise's long-term policy platform to address America's rental housing crisis and reverse decades-long patterns of residential segregation.
Prior to joining Enterprise, John was an economic policy analyst at the Center for American Progress in Washington, where he published regular columns and reports on housing finance and federal credit programs. He previously worked as an analyst with the Social and Economic Policy Division of Abt Associates, where he researched federal homeless assistance, affordable housing and community development programs. He also interned with Slate magazine in Washington, the United Nations Environment Program in Geneva and the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia.
John has testified before Congress on foreclosure prevention and his writing has been published in The Atlantic, US News & World Report, The Hill, American Banker, HousingWire and ThinkProgress. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Bloomberg Businessweek and other national news publications.
John holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Villanova University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
